This Cotes de Castillon appears capable of challenging the leader of the appellation, Chateau Pitray. Not surprisingly, the omnipresent oenologist, Michel Rolland, is the consultant. Surprisingly deep and rich, with a deep ruby color, the nose offers up aromas of currants, herbs, minerals, and oak. In the mouth, the wine has admirable concentration, moderate tannin, and plenty of character. Drink it over the next 5-7 years.
