The white wines begin with the 2007 Riesling “Bin 51”. Medium straw-colored, it presents an attractive nose of slate/mineral, floral aromas, and lemon-lime. This leads to a dry, medium-bodied wine with plenty of citrus fruit, lively acidity, and a refreshing finish. It will evolve in the manner of a top Mosel Riesling but can be enjoyed near-term as well.
Penfolds, arguably Australia’s most famous winery, continues to perform at a high level under the leadership of Head Winemaker, Peter Gago.
