An attractive effort, the 2021 Teyssier offers up aromas of sweet blackberries, raw cocoa and petals, followed by a medium-bodied, soft and charming palate that's supple, fleshy and demonstrative. From the sandy plateau of Saint-émilion, this will drink well on release.

From sandy soils on the plain near Monbousquet, the 2019 Teyssier exhibits aromas of raspberries, plums and cherries, framed by creamy oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich but lively, with polished tannins and a ripe core of fruit, it's a fruit-driven, demonstrative Saint-émilion that will drink well young.

The 2018 Teyssier is composed of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, with a 3.53 pH and 14.8% alcohol. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it comes skipping out of the glass with bright, open, carefree scents of stewed red and black plums, Morello cherries and fruitcake, plus hints of Chinese five spice, bay leaves and dusty soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is coated with spicy red and black fruits, supported by chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing with an herbal lift. Teyssier is from the JCP Maltus portfolio of skillfully crafted Saint-émilion wines. Neil White is the head winemaker, and Thomas Duclos is a consultant here.

Composed of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc, the deep garnet-purple colored 2017 Teyssier opens with a fragrant earth and smoked meats nose with crushed black cherries, mulberries and dusty soil nuances. The palate is medium-bodied with plenty of perfumed fruit and soft, plush tannins with a harmonious finish.

The 2016 Teyssier is made up of 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc aged in 25% new French oak. It has a medium garnet-purple color and reveals baked plums, warm blackberries and black cherry compote notes with touches of garrigue, pencil lead and cloves. Medium to full-bodied, the palate gives up loads of fresh, vibrant black fruits with a velvety texture and great freshness, finishing long with plenty of earthy sparks.
