From the Wasseros, the 2022 Riesling Sp?tlese was picked about a week later than the Kabinett, which comes, more or less, from the same plots on phyllite slate soils with a good water supply. The Sp?tlese opens with intense, elegant and ripe yellow-colored fruit but is precise and fresh. On the palate, this is a savory, fleshy, textured, saline and highly stimulating Sp?tlese that already drinks beautifully (a bit of reduction is part of the style) and will age for decades. A gorgeous classic. 9% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted at the domaine in August 2023.

Round, with loads of floral perfume, ripe white peach and crisp lychee, this has a well of mineral energy supporting a fleshy palate, with dried orange peel acidity bringing balance and definition.
