Blended of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Shiraz and 4% Malbec, the 2011 Matilda Plains Cabernet / Shiraz has a medium garnet-purple color and aromas of warm black plums, blackberry preserves and mulberries plus hints of cloves, allspice and vanilla. Medium-bodied, it gives a decent amount of black berry and spice flavors in the mouth with a low level of soft tannins, lively acid and a finish of medium persistence. Drink this one now to 2015.
