The 2016 Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru wafts from the glass with notes of toasted nuts, pear, mandarin, white flowers and beeswax. On the palate, it's full-bodied, layered and satiny, with chewy phenolic structure, a deep and dense core, and an extremely long finish. It's a blockier, earthier wine than the Chevalier-Montrachet, though it's a superb rendition of Batard.
