The 2020 Beaune 1er Cru Les Reversées bursts with aromas of peonies, violets, orange oil, Indian spices and plummy fruit. Medium to full-bodied, supple and perfumed, it's ample, suave and seamless, with melting tannins and a long, perfumed finish. As usual, Bouley retained large percentages of whole bunches to bring additional aromatic lift to this sandy site; and as usual, it's the domaine's premier cru that drinks best young.

Sumptuous and charming, the 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Reversées bursts with aromas of peonies, orange rind, sweet wild berries and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, ample and enveloping, with melting tannins, lively acids and a long, saline finish, its immediacy reflects the parcel's sandy soils and warm mesoclimate. As usual, this will drink brilliantly with minimal bottle age.

Bursting with aromas of sweet berry fruit, licorice, spices and peonies, the 2018 Beaune 1er Cru Les Reversées is medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with a charming core of bright, lively fruit, framed by velvety tannins and concluding with a precise finish. As usual, this is the most immediate of the domaine's premiers crus and will drink well young.

The 2017 Beaune 1er Cru Les Reversées is drinking brilliantly in its youth, and I've already enjoyed half a dozen bottles at one of my local Beaune restaurants. Bursting with aromas of sweet berry fruit, orange rind and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and enveloping, with a charming, open-knit profile allied with excellent concentration and precision. Readers who own bottles shouldn't hesitate to try one or two already.
